Job summary

The Legends Agency in Pretoria is seeking a Senior Lead Solar Installation Foreman to oversee on-site teams and manage full solar deployments, including PV, inverters, BESS, and backups, with a focus on safety and high-quality handovers.

You will read diagrams, plan sites, supervise materials, and train junior staff, travelling to project sites and coordinating with clients to deliver reliable, efficient installations.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' hands-on experience as a solar foreman or site manager.
• Proven experience in both C&I and residential solar installations.
• Fluent Afrikaans and English; Afrikaans essential for site communication.
• Department of Labour registered 3-Phase Wireman's Licence will be a major advantage.
• Experience with solar design, configuration and monitoring platforms (PVsyst, Helioscope, Deye Cloud, Victron VRM).
• Strong knowledge of SANS 10142-1 and SANS 10142-1-2.
• Good understanding of AC/DC cable sizing and PV string configurations.
• Valid South African Code B or EB driver's licence.

• Assist with fault finding and system optimisation via monitoring platforms.
• Ensure installations comply with SANS requirements for CoC certification.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone with strong experience in both Commercial & Industrial (C&I) and high-end residential solar installations, who can take ownership of projects from site preparation and installation through to commissioning and final handover.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage multiple installation teams on site
• Take responsibility for complete solar installations, including PV, hybrid inverters, BESS and backup generators
• Read and work from single-line diagrams, structural plans and electrical schematics
• Conduct pre-installation site assessments and assist with site planning
• Manage daily site activities, materials, tools and resources
• Ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, on time and to a high standard
• Provide guidance and training to junior team members
• Oversee inverter and battery configuration and commissioning
• Assist with fault finding and system optimisation using monitoring platforms
• Ensure electrical installations comply with the relevant SANS requirements and are suitable for CoC certification

Requirements
