Job summary

Recruitment Legends seeks a Senior Lead Solar Installation Foreman for Pretoria to oversee C&I and high-end residential solar projects. You will lead on-site teams, coordinate with clients and management, and ensure safety and workmanship of each installation.

Fluency in Afrikaans and English is essential, with a 3-Phase Wireman licence seen as a major advantage. Travel to project sites will be required in Gauteng and surrounding areas.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' hands‑on experience as a solar foreman or site manager.
• Proven experience in C&I and residential solar installations.
• Afrikaans and English fluency; Afrikaans essential for site/client communication.
• DoD Labour registered 3-Phase Wireman licence advantageous.
• Experience with PV design, configuration and monitoring platforms such as PVsyst, Helioscope, Deye Cloud, Victron VRM.
• Strong knowledge of SANS 10142-1 and SANS 10142-1-2.
• Valid SA Code B or EB driver's licence.

Responsibilities

• Lead on-site solar installation projects for diverse clients.
• Manage teams, coordinate with clients and internal management.
• Ensure electrical safety, workmanship quality and project finish.
• Collaborate with design and supervision teams for site execution.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years' hands-on experience as a solar foreman or site manager
• Proven experience in both C&I and residential solar installations
• Fluent Afrikaans and English – Afrikaans is essential for site and client communication
• A Department of Labour registered 3-Phase Wireman's Licence (Installation Electrician or Master Installation Electrician) will be a major advantage
• Experience with solar design, configuration and monitoring platforms such as PVsyst, Helioscope, Deye Cloud, Victron VRM or similar
• Strong knowledge of SANS 10142-1 and SANS 10142-1-2
• Good understanding of AC/DC cable sizing, voltage drop calculations and PV string configurations
• Valid South African Code B or EB driver's licence
