Placements24 is seeking a Senior Software Engineer focused on Cloud Infrastructure. This remote-first role is based in Benoni, Gauteng, SA, driving scalable, secure cloud platforms and DevOps practices.

You will design architectures across AWS/Azure/GCP, implement IaC, and lead CI/CD pipelines, with emphasis on automation, security, and reliability in a fast-paced tech environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 6+ years of software engineering with strong cloud infrastructure and DevOps focus.
• Proven expertise on a major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Strong scripting skills (Python, Bash, or Go).
• Experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration.
• Hands-on with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI).
• IaC experience (Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation).
• Knowledge of networking, security best practices, and monitoring.

Responsibilities

Requirements

• Proven expertise in at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP).

• Experience with container orchestration platforms like Kubernetes.
• Solid understanding of CI/CD principles and tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI).
