Placements24 is partnering with a fast-growing SaaS provider to hire a Senior DevOps Engineer. The role focuses on building, scaling, and maintaining cloud infrastructure, automating deployment pipelines, and ensuring reliability and performance of the platform.

You will work with engineers to implement infrastructure as code, CI/CD, and cloud security best practices, while operating in a fully remote setup based near Pretoria, Gauteng, South Africa.

Competenze

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience in CS/Engineering.
• 5+ years in DevOps/SRE or related infra role.
• Proven cloud experience (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Strong scripting (Python, Bash, PowerShell).
• Extensive experience with CI/CD tools and pipelines.
• Hands-on IaC with Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Expertise in containerization (Docker) and Kubernetes.
• Networking and security best practices.
• Experience with monitoring/logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK).
• Agile/Scrum mindset with strong communication.

They are seeking a highly experienced Senior DevOps Engineer to join their dynamic team, operating on a fully remote basis. This role is critical in building, scaling, and maintaining their cloud infrastructure, automating deployment pipelines, and ensuring the reliability and performance of their platform. You will work with a talented group of engineers dedicated to implementing best practices in infrastructure as code, continuous integration, and continuous delivery. Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage scalable and reliable cloud infrastructure, primarily on AWS or Azure.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or CircleCI.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration management using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or Chef.
• Implement and manage containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes.
• Monitor system performance, availability, and security, implementing proactive measures to prevent issues.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex infrastructure and application deployment issues.
• Collaborate with development and QA teams to optimize the software development lifecycle.
• Ensure the security and compliance of cloud environments.
• Develop and maintain robust logging, monitoring, and alerting systems.
• Contribute to architectural decisions related to cloud infrastructure and DevOps practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or a related infrastructure role.
• Proven experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Strong proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
• Extensive experience with CI/CD tools and methodologies.
• Hands-on experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation).
• Expertise in containerization (Docker) and container orchestration (Kubernetes).
• Solid understanding of networking concepts and security best practices.
• Experience with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack).
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
• Familiarity with Agile and Scrum methodologies.
