Placements24 is seeking a Senior Social Worker to lead the Family Support Services team in George, Western Cape. The role focuses on advanced therapeutic interventions, case management and service delivery innovation for vulnerable families in the George community.

The ideal candidate has an MSW, SACSSP registration, and at least 7 years post-qualifying experience with 3 years in a supervisory capacity, plus expertise in family therapy and crisis intervention.

• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel across George.

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Social Worker to lead their Family Support Services team in George, Western Cape . Requirements

• Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) or equivalent.
• Registration with the South African Council for Social Service Professions (SACSSP) as a Social Worker.
• A minimum of 7 years of post-qualifying experience in social work, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or senior role, preferably within family services.
• Proven expertise in family therapy, child protection, and crisis intervention techniques.
• Strong leadership, team management, and mentorship skills.
• In-depth knowledge of the social service landscape in the Western Cape .
• Excellent report writing, presentation, and communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure, manage competing priorities, and make sound decisions.
• Proficiency in relevant software applications and electronic record-keeping systems.
• A commitment to continuous professional development and staying abreast of best practices in social work.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel across the George region.
