Placements24 in Upington, Northern Cape, is seeking a Senior SOC Analyst to join the Security Operations Center. You will monitor, detect, analyze, and respond to cybersecurity threats in real-time, leveraging SIEM and EDR tools to protect critical infrastructure.

The role requires 4+ years in SOC, strong knowledge of networking, malware forensics, and scripting for automation. You will contribute to incident response, rule development, and continuous SOC improvements in a dynamic security

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• A minimum of 4 years of experience in a Security Operations Center (SOC) or similar security monitoring role.
• Proven experience with SIEM platforms (e.g., Splunk, QRadar, ELK Stack) and EDR solutions.
• Strong understanding of networking protocols, TCP/IP, common attack vectors, and threat landscapes.

Responsabilidades

• Monitoring security alerts from SIEM, IDS/IPS, and EDR solutions.
• Analyzing security events to identify potential threats and incidents, and performing initial triage.
• Responding to security incidents, including containment, eradication, and recovery steps.
• Conducting in-depth investigations of security breaches and suspicious activities.
• Developing and refining security detection rules and signatures.
• Contributing to the continuous improvement of SOC processes and procedures.
• Generating regular reports on security incidents, trends, and KPIs.
• Staying updated on emerging threats and security technologies.
