Job summary

impact.com is expanding its Shopify integration, seeking an engineer who deeply understands Shopify and can influence how the platform integrates with Impact's ecosystem. You will own Apps, Web Pixels and onboarding flows, build secure OAuth processes, and ensure scalable, resilient data pipelines across thousands of merchants.

You’ll work primarily with Ruby on Rails, while collaborating with teams using Node.js, Python or Java, and you will help evolve the integration as Shopify evolves its

Qualifications

• Production Shopify Apps, integrations or extensions experience.
• Understanding Shopify ecosystem beyond storefronts.
• Experience with REST/GraphQL APIs, OAuth, webhooks and high-volume pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Own the development and evolution of our Shopify integration, including Apps, Web Pixels and platform extensions.
• Design secure OAuth flows, manage credentials, automate onboarding and reduce merchant friction.
• Build and maintain the Rails-based backend that connects Shopify with Impact's APIs.
• Design resilient webhook consumers and high-volume data pipelines.
• Support broader Rails expertise while collaborating with Shopify engineers.
• Maintain health of the Shopify integration in production and plan upgrades.
• Proactively explore Checkout Extensibility, Functions and new Shopify capabilities.
