Job summary

Keen in Cape Town is seeking a Mid-Level Full-Stack Shopify Developer to own a dedicated client account, building and optimizing Shopify experiences while driving conversions.

You will work on themes, apps, integrations, and headless options, collaborating with the E-commerce Manager to implement CRO-driven improvements and deliver robust, scalable eCommerce solutions.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on Shopify development experience.
• Strong proficiency in Shopify's Liquid templating language.
• Solid understanding of HTML, CSS (SCSS), and JavaScript.
• Experience with Shopify Plus and its advanced capabilities.
• Familiarity with headless Shopify architectures (e.g., Hydrogen, React).
• Experience integrating Shopify APIs and third-party applications.
• Proven experience with version control (Git) and performance/SEO best practices.
• Experience working in a client-facing role with strong communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to think beyond execution and contribute strategically (CRO mindset).

Role Description

We are seeking an experienced Mid-Level Full-Stack Shopify Developer to take ownership of a dedicated client account, driving both technical execution and proactive growth initiatives. The ideal candidate will be responsible for building, optimizing, and evolving Shopify experiences while continuously identifying opportunities to improve conversion rates and overall performance. This position offers a unique opportunity to act as both a developer and a strategic partner, contributing ideas, testing hypotheses, and shaping the client’s eCommerce success.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain Shopify websites, including themes, custom features, and integrations
• Take a proactive approach to CRO by identifying opportunities, proposing experiments, and implementing tests
• Customize Shopify themes to align with brand, UX/UI, and performance goals
• Implement and manage third-party apps and custom integrations (payments, analytics, etc.)
• Optimize site performance for speed, SEO, and conversion
• Troubleshoot bugs and resolve technical issues efficiently
• Collaborate closely with the E-commerce Manager to align on strategy and execution
• Actively participate in client communication, presenting ideas, updates, and recommendations
• Manage product data, collections, and site structure within Shopify
• Build and test new features using Liquid, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS
• Work with Shopify Plus features and contribute to potential headless implementations
• Stay up to date with Shopify platform updates, best practices, and emerging trends
