Macsteel Service Centres SA (Pty) Ltd is seeking an experienced SHEQ Manager to lead health, safety, environmental and quality systems across our industrial operations in Pretoria. You will drive ISO 9001 alignment, audits, incident investigations and continuous improvement, ensuring legal compliance and product quality across Pipes, Fittings and Valves.

The role requires at least 6 years in SHEQ/QA within industrial environments, with strong leadership and driving a proactive safety culture.

Qualifications

Grade 12 / NQF Level 4-5 essential.
Diploma or Advanced Certificate in Health and Safety, Quality Assurance, Quality Management or related discipline; postgraduate business management qualification essential.
Minimum 6 years’ combined operational experience in Health, Safety, Environmental, Quality Assurance and Quality Control environments, including management exposure in Pipes, Fittings and Valves products.

Responsabilités

Implement, maintain and control health, safety, environmental and quality programmes.
Ensure adherence to statutory regulations, organisational standards, policies and procedures.
Maintain legal appointments, statutory certifications, inspections and mandated testing requirements.
Identify, report and address non-compliance, risks, incidents and non-conformances timeously, ensuring corrective and preventive actions are closed out within required timeframes.
Maintain and review SHEQ procedures, SWMS, HIRAs and related documentation.
Audit and monitor SHE compliance across the operation and ensure safe work standards are maintained.
Ensure incidents and accidents are investigated, recorded and reported where required.
Facilitate SHE inductions, toolbox talks, risk assessments and workplace inspections.
Manage safety representatives, emergency teams, contractor compliance and PPE administration.
Coordinate waste management, hazardous waste controls and site housekeeping programmes.
Maintain the ISO 9001 Quality Management System and ensure quality assurance and quality control processes are effectively implemented, supported by accurate and timely quality reporting.
Oversee the inspection and verification of products received, assembled and dispatched against PO, specification and material certification, with traceability.
Oversee calibration and verification of measuring equipment, with records traceable to SANAS ISO/IEC 17025 labs.
Manage non-conformances and corrective actions through to close-out.
Oversee supplier and third-party quality management, including audits and weld certs.
Manage customer quality concerns with sales/customer service teams.
Evaluate and resolve escalated product and service quality issues.
