Job summary

Blue Pearl Pty in Johannesburg, South Africa, invites a seasoned Service Designer to shape customer journeys and service experiences. You will conduct in-depth user research and partner with product and engineering teams to align design decisions with business goals.

With 9–12 years of experience, you will lead end-to-end design initiatives, develop design systems, and coach teams on service design practices. This contract spans a 27-week engagement with occasional travel to the Middle East.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of human-centered design principles and design thinking.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple projects.
• Proficiency in design tools such as Sketch, Figma, Adobe Creative Suite or similar.
• Experience with user research methods and analysis.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Conduct user research to gain a deep understanding of customer needs and behaviors.
• Design end-to-end experience journeys that meet customer needs and business goals.
• Write user stories and acceptance criteria to inform product development.
• Design and plan user testing to validate design decisions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure design solutions meet business and technical requirements.
• Develop and maintain design documentation and design systems.
• Enable and coach teams on the practice of service design.
