Placements24 in Port Elizabeth, Eastern Cape, is seeking a Senior Security Engineer for a remote-first role. You will design, implement, and manage security solutions to protect our e-commerce platform and customer data across digital services.

The role requires five+ years in security engineering, strong network, endpoint, and application security experience, and proficiency with SIEM, IDS/IPS, firewalls, and automation with Python or Bash.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a security engineering or similar role.
• Strong experience with network security, endpoint security, and application security.
• Proficiency in configuring and managing security tools like SIEM, IDS/IPS, and firewalls.
• Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) for automation.
• Understanding of cloud security principles (AWS, Azure) is a plus.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote setting.
• Security certifications such as Security+, CEH, or CISSP are advantageous.

This is a remote-first role, allowing you to contribute your expertise from anywhere.
