Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Control Systems Engineer specializing in SCADA for energy networks. This remote role focuses on designing, implementing, and maintaining SCADA systems that monitor power generation, transmission, and distribution.

You will lead automation strategies, work with GE iFIX, Wonderware, and Ignition platforms, and ensure cybersecurity and reliability across the grid while collaborating with clients and internal teams.

Qualifications

• 7+ years hands-on SCADA experience in the energy sector.
• Experience designing, implementing, and maintaining SCADA systems across generation, transmission, and distribution assets.
• Proficiency with SCADA platforms and communication protocols (DNP3, Modbus, IEC 61850).
• Strong understanding of control theory, electrical power systems, and industrial networking.

Responsibilities

• Design, configure, and commission SCADA systems for energy utilities, including RTUs, PLCs, HMIs, and communication networks.
• Develop and maintain control strategies, automation logic, and GUIs.
• Troubleshoot issues related to SCADA hardware, software, and networks in real time.
• Collaborate with clients and internal teams to define system requirements and ensure integration.
• Implement cybersecurity measures to protect SCADA systems from cyber threats.
• Stay current with emerging technologies in industrial automation for energy sector.
