Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a skilled Control Systems Engineer to join its remote team supporting energy facilities nationwide, focusing on design, implementation, and optimization of ICS and SCADA networks.

You will work with Siemens and Allen-Bradley PLCs, Ignition/Wonderware SCADA, and apply cybersecurity and networking expertise; occasional travel to facilities in the Free State region may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• 5+ years' experience in industrial control systems engineering, energy sector preferred.
• Proficiency with PLCs (Siemens, Allen-Bradley) and SCADA software (Ignition, Wonderware).
• Strong networking knowledge (Modbus, TCP/IP) and cybersecurity for ICS.
• Experience with system integration and database management.
• Excellent remote communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, configure, and commission PLCs and DCS.
• Develop and maintain SCADA systems for remote monitoring of energy assets.
• Implement cybersecurity measures to protect industrial control systems.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to control hardware, software, and networks.
• Collaborate with field engineers and operations teams for seamless integration.
• Develop and maintain system documentation including P&IDs, specifications, and diagrams.
