Placements24 in Paarl, Western Cape, seeks an expert Telecoms RF Engineer to optimize 2G/3G/4G/5G networks. You will perform RF planning, site surveys, and modeling to improve coverage, capacity, and user experience, collaborating with deployment teams to ensure timely site rollout.

The ideal candidate has 6+ years in mobile RF engineering, strong knowledge of Atoll/Planet/TEMS Investigation, and a solid grounding in propagation, antenna theory, and GSM to NR technologies.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 years of RF engineering experience for mobile networks.
• Proficiency with RF planning tools: Atoll, Planet, TEMS Investigation.
• Strong understanding of propagation, antenna theory and GSM/UMTS/LTE/NR.
• Experience with RF optimization techniques and data interpretation.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan, design and optimize RF coverage and capacity for 2G, 3G, 4G and 5G.
• Conduct RF site surveys, drive testing and data analysis to identify gaps.
• Develop propagation models and run simulations to predict performance.
• Recommend antennas, placement and configuration to maximize efficiency.
• Troubleshoot RF issues and implement improvements to signal quality.
• Coordinate with site acquisition and construction for site deployment.
