Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior RF Design Engineer in Upington, Northern Cape, to join the network development team in a hybrid role. You will design, optimize, and plan RF networks to ensure strong coverage, capacity and performance, guiding deployments and upgrades.

The ideal candidate has 6+ years in RF design with LTE and 5G NR experience, strong modeling skills, and the ability to mentor juniors in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, or related field.
• 6+ years in RF design and optimization for mobile networks.
• Experience with RF propagation modeling and planning tools.
• Knowledge of LTE and 5G NR technologies.

Responsibilities

• Design and plan RF network coverage for new sites and expansions.
• Conduct RF site surveys, antenna design, and propagation modeling.
• Optimize RF networks to improve call quality, data throughput and KPI metrics.
• Use RF planning tools (Atoll, Planet) for design and analysis.
• Prepare technical specs and recommendations for RF equipment.
• Mentor junior RF engineers and generate RF design documentation.
