Placements24 is seeking a Principal RF Network Engineer for Port Elizabeth, Eastern Cape. This senior role leads the design and optimization of RF networks, driving 5G deployments and performance improvements across the network.

You will mentor junior engineers, coordinate with planning and operations, evaluate new equipment, and deliver reports on network performance. A Master’s in Electrical or Telecommunications and 10+ years of RF experience are required, with a competitive executive salary

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Electrical or Telecommunications engineering.
• 10+ years of progressive RF network engineering experience.
• Deep knowledge of RF propagation, antenna theory, and cellular network design (GSM, WCDMA, LTE, NR).
• Experience with RF planning and optimization tools such as Atoll and Planet.
• CWNA certification or equivalent is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and optimization of RF networks, including site acquisition, antenna selection, and propagation modeling.
• Develop and implement strategies for network performance improvement, capacity planning, and spectrum management.
• Analyze RF data, conduct drive tests, and troubleshoot complex RF interference and coverage issues.
• Oversee deployment and integration of new RF technologies, including 4G/LTE and 5G NR.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure end-to-end network solutions.
• Stay abreast of advancements in RF engineering and wireless standards.
• Develop and mentor junior RF engineers, fostering technical excellence.
• Evaluate and recommend new RF equipment and software tools.
• Prepare detailed reports and presentations on network performance and strategic initiatives.
