Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a highly experienced Senior Reservoir Engineer to join our client in Benoni, Gauteng. You will analyze and manage oil and gas reservoirs, develop strategies, and drive value through advanced simulation and collaboration with exploration, production and economics teams.

Responsibilities include building dynamic models, evaluating performance, planning EOR projects, and delivering technical reports to management.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or PhD in Petroleum Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in reservoir engineering within the oil and gas industry.
• Proficiency with Eclipse, Petrel RE, and CMG reservoir simulation software.
• Strong understanding of reservoir characterization, fluid flow, and enhanced oil recovery techniques.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Experience with data analysis and uncertainty assessment in reservoir management.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain dynamic reservoir models using specialized simulation software.
• Analyze reservoir performance, production data, and well logs to estimate reserves.
• Plan drilling programs, workovers, and enhanced oil recovery (EOR) projects.
• Conduct economic evaluations to optimize project value.
• Collaborate with geologists, geophysicists, and production engineers to create field development plans.
• Prepare technical reports, reserve estimates, and presentations for management and stakeholders.
