Placements24 is seeking a Senior Reservoir Geologist for our client in Port Elizabeth. The role blends on-site and remote work, focusing on building detailed reservoir models and integrating core, petrophysical and seismic data.

You will collaborate with engineers and geophysicists to predict performance and guide field development, while mentoring junior team members and staying current with geological technologies.

Formación

• Master's degree in Geology or related geoscience; PhD is a plus.
• Minimum of 8 years as Reservoir Geologist in upstream oil and gas.
• Experience building and validating 3D reservoir models with Petrel, Roxar RMS and GeoGraphix.
• Strong in core analysis, petrophysics, well logs and seismic interpretation.
• Sedimentology, stratigraphy and structural geology relevant to reservoir characterization.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving and data integration skills; good communication.

Key Responsibilities

Requirements

• Master's degree in Geology or a related geoscience field. A Ph.D. is a plus.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience as a Reservoir Geologist in the upstream oil and gas industry.
• Proven expertise in building and validating 3D geological reservoir models using industry-standard software (e.g., Petrel, Roxar RMS, GeoGraphix).
• Strong understanding of core analysis, petrophysics, well log interpretation, and seismic data interpretation.
• Proficiency in sedimentology, stratigraphy, and structural geology relevant to reservoir characterization.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and data integration skills.
• Effective communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex geological concepts clearly.
• Experience working in a collaborative, multidisciplinary team environment.
• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid model, balancing on-site requirements with remote flexibility.
