Placements24 is seeking a Lead Geoscientist for a hybrid role based in Port Elizabeth, Eastern Cape. You will spearhead subsurface interpretation, leading a team of geoscientists and guiding exploration strategies through seismic data processing and integrated reservoir modeling.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years of geoscience experience, expert seismic interpretation skills (Petrel/Kingdom), and a strong background in structural/stratigraphic analysis and petroleum systems.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or Ph.D. in Geology, Geophysics, or a related Earth Science field.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in geoscience with a focus on subsurface interpretation in oil and gas.
• Expert proficiency in seismic interpretation software (Petrel, Kingdom).
• Experience in structural/stratigraphic interpretation and petroleum systems analysis.
• Leadership and team management capabilities.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Experience with data integration and multidisciplinary workflows.
• Knowledge of Southern Africa geology is a plus.
