Placements24 is seeking a Senior Renewable Energy Engineer (Solar PV) based in Port Elizabeth, Eastern Cape, ZA, to drive large-scale solar projects from design through implementation. The role requires deep PV expertise, regulatory knowledge, and strong leadership across multi-disciplinary teams.

You will design, analyse, and optimise solar PV systems, coordinate with project managers and construction teams, and ensure timely delivery within budget while staying compliant with SA regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 8 years in renewable energy with a focus on solar PV projects.
• Proven track record delivering complex PV projects from inception to completion.
• Experience with PV design software (PVsyst, Helioscope) and simulations.
• Knowledge of grid interconnection requirements and power system studies.
• Familiarity with SA energy policies, regulations, and permitting processes.
• Strong project management, analytical, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical design and engineering of solar PV power plants, ensuring performance and compliance.
