Placements24 is seeking a Senior Solar PV Design Engineer to join its renewable energy team in Durban. You will design PV systems for commercial, industrial and utility-scale projects, optimizing performance and ensuring safety and quality.

You will develop layouts, single-line diagrams, run energy simulations, verify codes (SANS), conduct site surveys and support installation with the procurement and construction teams. A strong background in PV design and BESS is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 6 years of solar PV design experience.
• Proficient in PVSyst, Helioscope, AutoCAD and SketchUp.
• Knowledge of SANS electrical codes and renewable regulations.
• Experience with grid-tied/off-grid PV and BESS.
• Strong problem-solving and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct site assessments and surveys to gather necessary data for accurate system design.


• Collaborate with procurement and construction teams to provide technical support during the installation and commissioning phases.

Requirements
