Placements24 is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for a remote-first role servicing the Durban, KwaZulu-Natal region. You will design, build, test, and maintain scalable backend systems for telecommunications platforms, working with a distributed team.

You will collaborate with product managers and engineers, implement RESTful APIs, microservices, and CI/CD pipelines, while mentoring junior engineers and staying current with industry trends.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software development experience, backend focus.
• Experience with microservices, RESTful APIs and distributed systems.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms and containerization technologies.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain scalable software solutions for telecommunications platforms.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers in a remote setting to deliver features.
• Write clean, maintainable code and participate in code reviews.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to architectural decisions.
• Develop and maintain automated tests and CI/CD pipelines.
• Stay current with emerging technologies in telecommunications software.
