Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Automation Controls Engineer to join a fully remote team. You will design, program, and commission PLC and HMI systems for automated manufacturing, develop SCADA solutions, and integrate robotics into production lines from a home office.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in industrial automation, strong PLC/SCADA expertise, knowledge of Ethernet/IP/Profinet/Modbus, and fluency in remote collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Science, or a related engineering discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years hands-on experience in industrial automation and control systems engineering.
• Proficiency in programming languages for major PLC brands (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Omron).
• Experience with SCADA software (Ignition, Wonderware, FactoryTalk View).
• Knowledge of industrial communication protocols (Ethernet/IP, Profinet, Modbus).
• Familiarity with robotics programming (KUKA, FANUC) is a strong asset.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent technical documentation and communication abilities for remote collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Design, program, and commission PLC and HMI systems for automated manufacturing processes.
• Develop and implement SCADA systems for process monitoring and control.
• Integrate robotic systems and other automation equipment into production lines.
• Perform system diagnostics, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
• Create detailed electrical schematics, control logic documentation, and user manuals.
• Collaborate with clients and internal teams to define project requirements and scope.
