Placements24 is seeking a remote Process Automation Engineer to design, implement, and optimize automated manufacturing systems. The role emphasizes independent work on PLC, SCADA, and HMI projects across Siemens, Rockwell, and Wonderware platforms in a remote setting.

The ideal candidate will have a U.K. or international-standard degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or CS and at least 5 years of hands-on automation experience, with strong problem-solving and collaboration skills for

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, CS, or related field.
Minimum 5 years of hands-on process automation experience.
Proficiency in PLC programming and HMI/SCADA development.
Experience with Siemens, Rockwell, Wonderware platforms.
Strong understanding of industrial control systems and data acquisition.
Ability to work independently on multiple remote projects.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and implement automation solutions for manufacturing processes using PLCs, SCADA, and HMI.
Program and configure automation hardware/software across Siemens, Rockwell, and Wonderware.
Troubleshoot automation systems to minimize production disruption.
Develop and maintain design specs, code, and operation manuals.
Collaborate with internal teams and vendors to define automation requirements.
Conduct system testing, validation, and commissioning.
Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction.
Provide remote technical support and training to site personnel.
Stay current with emerging automation technologies and best practices.
Ensure safety standards and regulatory compliance.
