Job summary

Placements24 seeks a Senior Sales Engineer to bridge complex IoT solutions with customer needs. The role is remote-first, supporting clients from Polokwane and beyond, and requires deep technical know-how and proactive client engagement.

Responsibilities include discovery, technical demos, solution design, and collaboration with product/engineering teams to meet client objectives. Travel may be occasional to client sites as needed.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in Sales Engineering, Solutions Architecture, or Pre-Sales.
• Ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Strong understanding of networking, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), data analytics, and sensor technologies.
• Experience in designing and implementing IoT solutions.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; Master's degree is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary technical expert during the sales process, supporting Account Executives in engaging clients.
• Conduct in-depth discovery sessions to understand customer requirements, objectives, and pain points related to IoT and industrial automation.
• Develop and deliver technical presentations and product demonstrations, showcasing the value of IoT solutions.
• Design and architect customized IoT solutions that meet client needs, leveraging deep technical knowledge.
• Respond to technical queries, RFPs, and RFIs from potential and existing customers.
• Collaborate with product management and engineering teams to provide market feedback and product enhancements.
• Build and maintain strong technical relationships with key stakeholders within client organizations.
• Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitor offerings in Polokwane's industrial landscape.
• Contribute to the development of sales enablement materials and technical documentation.
