Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Automation Electrical Engineer for a fully remote role. You will design, implement, and maintain automation hardware and software, integrating PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, and networking to optimise plant processes.

You will collaborate with a global team, specify components, develop schematics, and support system upgrades for safety and efficiency. A strong background in electrical engineering and hands-on automation is essential.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechatronics required.
Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in industrial automation and control systems.
Proficiency in PLC programming (Siemens TIA Portal, Studio 5000) and HMI software.
Strong understanding of industrial networks (Ethernet/IP, Profibus) and protocols.
Robotics integration and machine vision experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

Design, program, and commission industrial automation systems including PLCs, HMIs, and SCADA.
Develop electrical schematics and control panel layouts for automated machinery.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to automation hardware, software, and networking.
Specify and select automation components, sensors, and actuators.
Implement system upgrades to improve efficiency, reliability, and safety.
Collaborate with software engineers and operations teams to ensure integrated performance.
