Placements24 is seeking a highly experienced Senior Buyer specializing in Raw Materials to join its procurement team. This fully remote role focuses on strategic sourcing, supplier negotiations, and ensuring uninterrupted supply for manufacturing operations across South Africa.

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of commodity markets, strong analytical skills, and a track record of delivering cost savings while maintaining quality and delivery standards.

Competenze

• Bachelor's degree required in a related field.
• Minimum 7 years in procurement with raw material sourcing focus.
• Proven ability to negotiate large-scale contracts and manage supplier relationships.

Mansioni

• Develop strategic sourcing plans for all raw material requirements focusing on cost optimization and risk mitigation.
• Lead complex negotiations with domestic and international suppliers for favorable terms.
• Monitor global commodity markets, forecast price fluctuations, and inform purchasing decisions and hedging strategies.
• Manage supplier relationships, conduct regular performance reviews, and drive continuous improvement within the supply base.
• Collaborate with production, R&D, and QA teams to ensure materials meet specs and delivery timelines.
• Oversee inventory levels to optimize stock availability and minimize holding costs.
