Placements24 is seeking a seasoned Senior Buyer for a prominent manufacturing company in Durban. The role combines on-site collaboration with remote work to ensure uninterrupted supply of raw materials and critical components for production.

You will lead negotiations, manage supplier relationships, and optimize inventory while driving cost reductions. The ideal candidate has 5+ years in manufacturing procurement, strong ERP skills, and a strategic mindset.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in SCM or related field.
• At least 5 years in purchasing within manufacturing.
• Experience sourcing raw materials and components.
• Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with ERP and procurement software.
• Hybrid work with Durban office commute as needed.

Responsibilities

• Source, negotiate, and purchase raw materials and components.
• Maintain relationships with key suppliers for reliable supply.
• Manage inventory levels with production and logistics.
• Analyze market trends and supplier performance for savings.
• Prepare and issue purchase orders and ensure timely delivery.
• Conduct supplier audits and performance reviews.
• Collaborate with R&D/engineering on material specs.
• Resolve quality, delivery, and invoicing issues with suppliers.
