• Proficiency in quantity surveying software and standard office applications.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates, bills of quantities, and tender documents for commercial and industrial projects.

About the Role

Our client, a dynamic and growing construction firm, is seeking a highly experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their team in Polokwane . This role is central to managing the financial aspects of construction projects, from tendering and cost estimation through to final account settlement. You will play a critical role in ensuring projects remain financially viable and profitable, working closely with project managers, engineers, and clients. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented professional to contribute to significant developments within the Limpopo province. You will be a key advisor on all cost-related matters, ensuring value for money and commercial success for our projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates, bills of quantities, and tender documents for commercial and industrial construction projects.
• Manage the tendering process, including evaluating bids and negotiating contracts with subcontractors and suppliers.
• Control project costs throughout the construction phase, monitoring expenses and forecasting final project costs.
• Valuation of work executed and preparation of interim payment certificates.
• Manage variations, claims, and final account settlement.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, and contractors on all commercial and contractual matters in Polokwane .
• Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and relevant building regulations.
• Conduct site visits to assess progress and verify quantities of work performed.
• Provide commercial advice and support to the project management team to optimize project profitability.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying or a related construction discipline.
• Professional registration with the South African Council for the Property Valuers Profession (SACPVP) or SACQSP is highly advantageous.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor, with a strong background in commercial and industrial projects.
• Proven experience in cost management, tendering, contract administration, and claims management.
• Proficiency in quantity surveying software and standard office applications.
• Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and South African building codes.
• Excellent negotiation , communication, and analytical skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and work effectively under pressure in the Limpopo region.
