Placements24 is seeking a Senior QA Automation Engineer for a fully remote role within South Africa. You will design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks for web and mobile applications, integrating tests into CI/CD and collaborating with development teams.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in QA with strong automation, proficiency in Java/Python/JavaScript, and experience with Postman and API testing. Remote work within SA, with growth opportunities in a fast-growing SaaS environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in Quality Assurance with a strong focus on test automation.
• Proven experience in designing and implementing automated test frameworks (e.g., Selenium WebDriver, Cypress, Appium).
• Proficiency in programming languages commonly used for test automation, such as Java, Python, or JavaScript.
• Experience with API testing tools (e.g., Postman, RestAssured).
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI) and concepts.
• Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).
• Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and agile methodologies.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills for a remote work environment.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and execute automated test scripts for web and mobile applications.
• Create and maintain robust, scalable, and efficient automated test frameworks.
• Integrate automated tests into the CI/CD pipeline to enable continuous testing.
• Collaborate with developers and product managers to understand feature requirements and identify test scenarios.
• Identify, document, and track bugs, providing detailed and reproducible reports.
• Perform various types of testing, including regression, functional, and performance testing.
• Contribute to the improvement of QA processes and best practices.
• Mentor junior QA engineers and share knowledge on automation techniques.
• Analyze test results and provide regular reports on testing progress and quality metrics.
• Stay updated with the latest trends and tools in QA automation.
