Placements24 is seeking a Senior Software QA Engineer to join a fully remote, globally distributed team. You will design, develop, and execute comprehensive test strategies, and collaborate with development teams to ensure high-quality software.

Role emphasizes automation, API testing, and exploration of performance testing, with opportunities to enhance QA processes and participate in code reviews to uphold quality across the development lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field or equivalent practical experience.
• Proven experience as Software QA Engineer, including senior-level responsibilities.
• Strong knowledge of QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
• Experience designing and executing manual and automated test cases.
• Proficiency with bug tracking and test management tools (e.g., Jira, TestRail).
• Experience with at least one programming/scripting language (e.g., Python, Java, JavaScript) for test automation.
• Familiarity with API testing tools (e.g., Postman, Swagger).
• Experience with performance and load testing tools is a plus.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and execute test plans, cases, and scripts for web and mobile apps.
• Identify, document, and track defects using bug tracking systems (e.g., Jira).
• Collaborate with developers, PMs, and stakeholders to understand requirements.
• Perform functional, regression, integration, performance, and usability testing.
• Automate test cases where possible using appropriate frameworks/tools.
• Contribute to QA process improvements and methodologies.
• Participate in code reviews from a QA perspective.
• Analyze test results and report on quality trends.
• Stay updated with QA tools and best practices.
• Advocate for quality across the software development lifecycle.
