Placements24 is seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to oversee the legal aspects of a diverse property portfolio in Mossel Bay, Western Cape. The role focuses on property law, conveyancing, and contract negotiation to support growth objectives.

The successful candidate will manage conveyancing, advise on zoning and environment, and draft/negotiate complex property agreements in collaboration with external counsel.

Qualifications

• Admitted SA attorney with conveyancing qualification.
• LLB or equivalent degree required.
• 7+ years post-qualification in SA property law and conveyancing.
• Experience with large-scale property development projects.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert legal advice on all property-related matters, including acquisitions, disposals, leasing, and development projects.
• Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of property agreements, such as sale agreements, lease agreements, sectional title schemes, and joint venture agreements.
• Oversee and manage the conveyancing process for property transactions, ensuring efficient and compliant transfers.
• Advise on zoning, land use, and environmental regulations affecting property development.
• Manage legal aspects of property finance and securitization.
• Conduct legal due diligence on potential property acquisitions and developments.
• Liaise with external legal practitioners, government authorities, and other stakeholders.
• Assist in resolving property-related disputes and litigation.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant property legislation and company policies.
