Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a diligent Legal Officer specializing in property law and conveyancing for an office-based role in Mossel Bay, Western Cape. You will handle all conveyancing tasks, draft property agreements, and ensure compliance with Deeds Office requirements.

The ideal candidate has an LLB, SA Conveyancer admission, and at least 4 years of relevant experience across residential, commercial, and sectional title matters. Residency or relocation to Mossel Bay is encouraged.

Qualifications

Qualified solicitor with SA Conveyancer admission and 4+ years in conveyancing.
Strong knowledge of SA property law, Deeds Registries Act and related legislation.
Experience handling residential, commercial, and sectional title transactions.

Responsibilities

Manage all conveyancing tasks: transfers, bond registrations, and cancellations.
Draft and review property-related agreements including sale, lease, and development contracts.
Ensure compliance with property legislation, bylaws and Deeds Office requirements.
Liaise with estate agents, financial institutions, surveyors and local authorities.
Provide advice on property disputes, zoning, and land use matters.
Assist with sectional title schemes and homeowners' associations administration.
Due diligence on property transactions; maintain meticulous records.
Stay updated on changes in property law and conveyancing practices.
Represent clients with professionalism and integrity.
