Boardroom Appointments in Johannesburg is seeking a Senior Project Manager for SMEIP to lead multidisciplinary engineering and construction projects within mining and heavy industrial sectors, from project initiation through commissioning and handover.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record, demonstrate strong leadership, commercial and stakeholder management skills, and a commitment to safety and quality in demanding environments across Africa.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or BTech in an engineering discipline.
• Pr.CPM SACPCMP registration is essential.
• ECSA Pr. Eng. or Pr. Tech. Eng. registration is advantageous.
• Minimum 10 years’ engineering and construction experience.
• At least 7 years’ experience managing SMEIP projects.
• Proven experience delivering Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation and Piping projects.
• Strong commercial, contractual, planning and cost management experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Project and/or Primavera P6.
• Valid driver's licence.
• Willingness to travel extensively and work on remote project sites.

Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, execution and successful delivery of SMEIP projects.
• Manage project scope, schedules, budgets, resources and project risks.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering and construction teams.
• Ensure compliance with contractual, statutory, client and SHEQ requirements.
• Manage subcontractors, suppliers and overall commercial performance.
• Build and maintain strong client and stakeholder relationships.
• Drive projects through commissioning, completion and final handover.
• Deliver projects safely, on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards.
