About the Role

Our client, a leading telecommunications provider, is seeking a highly experienced Senior Project Manager to oversee a large-scale IT infrastructure rollout project. The role will be based out of our Randburg, Gauteng regional office, with opportunities for hybrid work. You will be responsible for the planning, execution, and successful deployment of complex IT infrastructure projects, ensuring minimal disruption to services. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and manage comprehensive project plans for IT infrastructure rollouts, including scope, timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
• Lead and direct cross-functional teams, including IT specialists, network engineers, and vendors, to achieve project objectives.
• Oversee the procurement, installation, configuration, and testing of new IT infrastructure components.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and issues, developing proactive solutions.
• Manage stakeholder communications, providing regular progress updates and managing expectations.
• Ensure adherence to project management best practices, quality standards, and security protocols.
• Monitor project expenditures and manage the project budget effectively.
• Coordinate with operations teams to ensure a smooth transition from project completion to ongoing service management.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• A Master's degree or PMP/ITIL certification is highly desirable.
• Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in IT project management, with a significant focus on infrastructure deployment and upgrades.
• Proven experience managing complex, large-scale IT infrastructure projects, preferably in the telecommunications or technology sector.
• Strong technical understanding of networking, servers, cloud technologies (AWS, Azure), and cybersecurity.
• Demonstrated experience in managing budgets exceeding R10 million.
• Exceptional leadership, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera).
• Experience working within a hybrid model, requiring on-site presence in Randburg, Gauteng as needed.
• Ability to manage multiple complex projects concurrently.
