About the Role

Our client, a leading development firm, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Project Manager to oversee critical infrastructure projects in Pietermaritzburg . This pivotal role demands a strategic thinker with a proven track record in managing complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives from conception through to completion. You will be instrumental in ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional leadership capabilities and a deep understanding of construction methodologies and regulatory frameworks relevant to KwaZulu-Natal .

Key Responsibilities

• Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, timelines, resource allocation, and budget management for infrastructure projects.
• Lead and motivate cross-functional project teams, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment.
• Effectively manage project risks and issues, implementing mitigation strategies to minimize disruptions.
• Liaise with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies to ensure alignment and compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
• Oversee procurement processes, contract negotiations, and vendor management.
• Conduct regular project reviews and provide detailed status reports to senior management.
• Ensure adherence to all safety, environmental, and quality standards.
• Manage project documentation and maintain accurate records.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• A Master's degree is advantageous.
• Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in project management, with a significant focus on infrastructure development.
• Proven experience managing projects with budgets exceeding R50 million.
• Strong understanding of project management methodologies (e.g., PRINCE2, PMP).
