Placements24 is seeking a proactive Senior Project Manager to oversee critical infrastructure development projects in Nelspruit (Mbombela). You will lead multidisciplinary teams, manage budgets, and ensure quality, safety, and on-time delivery of large-scale initiatives that drive regional development.

The role requires at least 7 years in infrastructure project management, a Civil Engineering or Construction Management degree, and excellent stakeholder management.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 7 years of experience in project management within infrastructure development.
• Experience managing large-scale infrastructure projects, preferably in Mpumalanga.
• Strong understanding of infrastructure engineering, construction methods, and regulatory frameworks.
• Excellent leadership, negotiation, communication and stakeholder management.
• Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field; PMP advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end lifecycle of infrastructure projects from conception to handover.
• Develop detailed project plans: scope, resources, budget, risk.
• Oversee execution with adherence to standards, safety and env policies.
• Coordinate with internal teams, contractors, consultants and regulators.
• Monitor progress and take corrective actions for deviations.
• Present progress reports to senior management and stakeholders.

You will lead multidisciplinary teams, manage stakeholder relations, and oversee budgets to deliver impactful projects that contribute to regional development. Key Responsibilities

• Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of infrastructure development projects, from initial conception through to final handover.
• Develop detailed project plans, including scope definition, resource allocation, budget management, and risk mitigation strategies.
• Oversee project execution, ensuring adherence to engineering standards, safety regulations, and environmental policies.
• Coordinate effectively with internal teams, external contractors, consultants, and regulatory bodies.
• Monitor project progress rigorously, implementing corrective actions to address deviations from the plan.
• Prepare and present regular progress reports to senior management and key stakeholders.

Requirements

• Minimum of 7 years of experience in project management , specifically within infrastructure development (e.g., civil, utilities, energy).
• Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale projects, ideally within the Mpumalanga region.
• Strong understanding of infrastructure engineering principles, construction methodologies, and relevant regulatory frameworks.

• Relevant tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline; PMP certification is advantageous.
