About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced and adept Senior Project Manager - Infrastructure to join their management team in Midrand, Gauteng . This role is central to the planning, execution, and successful delivery of critical infrastructure projects within the organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing large-scale projects from inception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You will be responsible for leading project teams, managing stakeholder expectations, and mitigating risks. This position requires a strategic thinker with exceptional organizational and leadership capabilities, contributing significantly to the company's development in Gauteng . You will be expected to drive project success through meticulous planning and execution in a hybrid work setting.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the planning, execution, and closing of complex infrastructure projects. Define project scope, goals, deliverables, and success criteria in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders. Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and budget management. Manage project teams, providing leadership, guidance, and motivation. Identify, assess, and manage project risks and issues, developing mitigation strategies. Ensure effective communication and stakeholder management throughout the project lifecycle. Monitor project progress against the plan, reporting on status, budget, and timelines. Oversee procurement processes and manage relationships with contractors and vendors. Ensure compliance with all relevant industry standards, regulations, and company policies. Drive continuous improvement in project management methodologies and processes.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. A Master's degree or PMP certification is highly desirable. 10+ years of experience in project management, with a significant focus on infrastructure projects. Proven track record of successfully delivering complex projects on time and within budget. Strong understanding of project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall). Excellent leadership, team management, and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera). Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities. Strong communication and negotiation skills. Experience working within the Gauteng region is advantageous. This role operates on a hybrid model, requiring regular presence at the Midrand office for team collaboration and site oversight.
