Placements24 is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to lead the design, procurement, and construction of mining infrastructure in Kimberley, Northern Cape. You will manage multidisciplinary teams and ensure safe, on‑time, and on‑budget project delivery within strict standards.

The role demands 8–10 years of project engineering experience in mining or heavy industry, with strong leadership, communication, and contractor coordination skills.

Qualifications

• BEng or BSc in Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.
• Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) registration with ECSA is desirable.
• 8–10 years of experience in project engineering and management, preferably in mining or heavy industrial sectors.

Responsabilités

• Lead planning, execution, and commissioning of mining infrastructure projects.
• Manage project scope, budget, schedule, and resources.
• Oversee design, engineering, and procurement processes for all project components.
• Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations throughout all project phases.
• Coordinate with contractors, consultants, and internal stakeholders.
• Conduct feasibility studies, risk assessments, and project reviews.
• Liaise with operations teams to ensure smooth integration of new infrastructure.
• Prepare project reports, progress updates, and final documentation.
• Identify and implement innovative solutions to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
• Mentor and develop junior project engineers and technical staff.
