About the Role

Our client, a highly regarded architectural practice known for its innovative and high-quality projects, is seeking a Senior Project Architect to join their team in Kimberley, Northern Cape . This role is responsible for overseeing the successful execution of architectural projects from inception through to completion. You will manage project teams, coordinate with consultants and contractors, and ensure that designs meet client expectations, regulatory requirements, and the firm's standards for design excellence. The ideal candidate is a seasoned professional with strong leadership skills, exceptional technical expertise, and a proven ability to manage complex projects effectively in a collaborative office environment. This is a key role for driving project success and contributing to the firm's reputation.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage architectural projects through all project phases, including design, documentation, and construction administration. Oversee and mentor project teams, including junior architects and interns. Develop architectural designs, construction drawings, and specifications. Coordinate with structural, mechanical, electrical, and other engineering consultants. Liaise effectively with clients, contractors, and regulatory authorities. Ensure projects comply with building codes, zoning ordinances, and relevant standards. Manage project schedules and budgets to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery. Conduct site visits to monitor construction progress and address any issues that arise. Perform quality control reviews of project documents and construction work. Maintain excellent client relationships and ensure client satisfaction.

Requirements

Professional degree in Architecture. Minimum of 7 years of experience in architectural practice, with a significant portion dedicated to project management. Proven experience leading architectural projects from concept to completion. Proficiency in architectural design software such as Revit, AutoCAD, and relevant visualization tools. Strong understanding of building codes, construction methods, materials, and project delivery processes. Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and meet deadlines. Experience in construction administration and site supervision. Knowledge of the Northern Cape's local building environment is advantageous. A strong portfolio showcasing successfully delivered projects.
