Job summary

Absa Group is seeking a seasoned Programme Manager to lead and deliver large-scale Business Banking programmes. You will own end-to-end delivery, ensure alignment to strategy, and manage cross-functional teams, governance, and stakeholder engagement in a dynamic banking environment.

You will drive transformation, optimise processes, and track benefits realisation, reporting to Exco and senior leadership. Requires 10+ years in programme management and banking background.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering, IT, or related field (NQF Level 7).
• Postgraduate qualification in Project/Programme Management or Business – advantageous.
• Programme/Project Management certifications preferred (PMP, PRINCE2, PgMP).
• Agile / SAFe certification – advantageous.
• Experience in banking or financial services is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end delivery of large-scale Business Banking programmes.
• Define programme scope, objectives, and delivery approach aligned to business strategy.
• Oversee planning, execution, and integration of all project workstreams.
• Ensure delivery within time, cost, and quality parameters.
• Translate strategy into executable programme roadmaps and drive transformation.
• Establish and manage governance, reporting, and control structures.
• Monitor risks, dependencies, and issues with mitigation plans.
• Manage budgets, forecasts, and resource allocation.
• Ensure benefits realisation and sustainability post-implementation.
