Placements24 seeks a Lead Production Geologist in Cape Town to drive subsurface interpretation, modeling, and data integration for production optimization. The role focuses on defining drilling targets, data quality, and collaboration with reservoir engineers and production teams.

With 10+ years in exploration/production geology, you will lead geological workflows, supervise juniors, and ensure data integrity using Petrel/GeoGraphix in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Geology, Geophysics, or a related geoscience discipline.
• Over 10 years of experience in exploration and production geology.
• Expertise in seismic interpretation software and geological modeling.
• Ability to integrate diverse datasets and understand reservoir heterogeneities.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain detailed 3D geological models for field development.
• Interpret seismic, well log, and core data to identify reservoirs and optimize drilling.
• Collaborate with reservoir engineers to integrate geological insights into models.
• Supervise junior geologists and provide technical guidance.
• Ensure geological data integrity and manage databases and software.
• Contribute to exploration ventures and prospect generation.
