Job summary

SARS is seeking a self‑motivated procurement professional to deliver operational plans and support service delivery across the Free State and Northern Cape. You will manage 3‑quote processes, governance evaluation, and supplier interactions within the corporate procurement framework, ensuring compliance and value for money.

The role requires 3–4 years in a supply chain environment, with a focus on procurement.

Qualifications

• Experience with RFQ processes and governance evaluation.
• Ability to compile reports and provide recommendations.
• Knowledge of procurement policies and statutory requirements.
• Proven ability to negotiate with suppliers for best value.

Responsibilities

• Provide reports with recommendations for the area of specialisation.
• Communicate interpretation and judgments of outputs and queries.
• Apply legislation, policies, procedures and SOPs in work outputs.
• Plan and schedule activities to improve quality and service delivery.
• Execute process changes and provide guidelines for new requirements.
• Advise business users on requisitions, item descriptions and prices.
• Manage purchasing activities including RFQ translation of specs.
• Negotiate with suppliers to achieve best value for money.
• Oversee the expediting process to ensure 30‑day payment terms.
