About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced and strategic Senior Procurement Manager to oversee purchasing operations in Johannesburg . This pivotal role involves leading a team, developing procurement strategies, and ensuring the efficient acquisition of goods and services to support business objectives. You will be instrumental in driving cost savings, mitigating risks, and fostering strong relationships with suppliers, contributing significantly to the company's financial health and operational efficiency within the dynamic South African market. This position offers a blend of strategic leadership and hands-on management.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive procurement strategies aligned with organizational goals.
• Lead, mentor, and manage the procurement team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment.
• Negotiate contracts and terms with suppliers to achieve optimal pricing, quality, and delivery.
• Conduct market research and supplier analysis to identify potential risks and opportunities.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in procurement and supply chain management.
• Proven track record of developing and executing successful cost-saving initiatives.
• Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with procurement software and ERP systems.
• Excellent leadership and communication abilities, with experience managing teams.
