Placements24 in Richards Bay, KwaZulu-Natal, seeks a Senior Process Safety Engineer to lead safety management across our client's chemical operations. You will implement PSM programs, perform PHAs, and drive risk reduction while ensuring compliance with local and international standards.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Chemical Engineering, 8+ years' experience, strong analytical skills, incident investigation expertise, and CSP certification as a major advantage.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or related field.
• 8+ years of process safety engineering experience in chemical/process industries.
• Proven PHAs experience (HAZOP/LOPA) and risk assessment methodologies.
• Strong knowledge of PSM elements, standards, and SA safety legislation.

Responsibilities

• Lead PHAs (HAZOP/LOPA/What-If) and risk assessments.
• Develop, implement, and maintain PSM programs.
• Ensure compliance with national/international process safety standards.
• Perform incident investigations and root cause analyses.
• Develop and deliver process safety training.
• Review designs and MOC for safety implications.
• Conduct safety audits and site inspections.
• Develop emergency response plans and procedures.
• Stay updated with best practices and trends in process safety.
• Advise management on process safety risks and mitigation.
