Job summary

Placements24 in Centurion is seeking a Senior Chemical Engineer specializing in process development to optimize and scale up chemical processes for the production of advanced materials.

You will lead hazard analyses, develop P&IDs, mass and energy balances, and drive safety, efficiency and sustainability across production operations. This is a forward-looking role focused on innovation and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• B.Eng or MSc in Chemical Engineering required.
• 5+ years in process development, scale-up or manufacturing in chemical/pharma industries.
• Proficiency with process simulation software (Aspen Plus, HYSYS) and statistics tools.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize chemical processes for pilot and commercial scale production.
• Conduct PHAs and implement safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
• Perform experimental studies to investigate variables and improve yield and quality.
• Develop P&IDs, mass and energy balances, and equipment specifications.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues during scale-up and manufacturing.
