Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or related field.
• 7+ years of process engineering experience in chemical/petrochemical
• Strong fundamentals in reaction engineering, thermodynamics, mass/heat transfer
• Experience with process simulation tools and PSM/HAZOP studies

Responsibilities

• Design, analyze, and optimize chemical processes for yield, efficiency, and product quality.
• Conduct process safety studies including HAZOP and implement recommendations.
• Troubleshoot process upsets and equipment failures; implement corrective actions.
• Develop PFDs/P&IDs, run simulations, and perform equipment sizing calculations.
• Collaborate with operations, maintenance and project teams on process modifications and capital projects.
• Prepare technical documentation and guidelines for process changes.

You will be instrumental in process design, troubleshooting, debottlenecking, and implementing process improvements. Key Responsibilities

• Design, analyze, and optimize chemical processes to improve yield, efficiency, and product quality.
• Conduct process safety studies, including HAZOP analysis, and implement recommendations to mitigate risks.
• Troubleshoot process upsets and equipment failures, developing and implementing corrective actions.
• Develop PFDs and P&IDs, perform process simulations, and conduct equipment sizing calculations.
• Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and project teams to ensure successful implementation of process modifications and capital projects.
• Prepare technical documentation, reports, and operational guidelines for process changes and improvements.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in process engineering within the chemical or petrochemical industry.
• Strong understanding of chemical reaction engineering, thermodynamics, and mass/heat transfer principles.
• Proficiency with process simulation software (e.g., Aspen Plus, HYSYS) and process control systems.
• Experience with Process Safety Management (PSM) and HAZOP studies.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, necessary for working in Port Elizabeth .
