Responsibilities

• Analyze current processes to identify efficiency, cost, and quality gains.
• Develop and implement process optimization strategies using lean and Six Sigma.
• Design experiments to validate changes to processes.
• Collaborate with production, quality, and R&D teams for seamless integration.
• Create and maintain SOPs and work instructions.
• Train junior staff in process improvement techniques.
• Monitor KPIs and report findings and recommendations.
• Troubleshoot downtime and waste and implement corrective actions.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze current manufacturing processes to identify areas for improvement in efficiency, cost reduction, and quality enhancement.
• Develop and implement process optimization strategies, including lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies.
• Design and conduct experiments to validate new processes or modifications to existing ones.
• Collaborate with production, quality control, and R&D teams to ensure seamless integration of new processes.
• Develop and maintain detailed process documentation, including standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions.
• Train and mentor junior engineering staff on process improvement techniques and best practices.
• Monitor process performance using key performance indicators (KPIs) and report on findings and recommendations.
• Troubleshoot production issues and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime and waste.
• Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies in manufacturing and process engineering.
• Ensure all processes comply with relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in process engineering within a manufacturing environment.
• Proven track record of implementing successful process improvements and achieving measurable results.
• Strong understanding of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement methodologies.
• Proficiency in process simulation software and statistical analysis tools.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across different departments.
• Experience with project management is a plus.
• Must be eligible to work in South Africa .
• Previous experience in Midrand, Gauteng or similar industrial hubs is advantageous.
