About the Role

Our client, a prominent manufacturing firm, is seeking a highly skilled Senior Manufacturing Process Engineer to join their operations in Johannesburg, Gauteng . This role is integral to driving efficiency, implementing automation, and optimizing production processes within their state-of-the-art facilities. You will be responsible for analyzing existing manufacturing workflows, identifying areas for improvement, and designing/implementing innovative solutions to enhance productivity, reduce costs, and improve product quality. The ideal candidate possesses a strong engineering background, deep knowledge of manufacturing automation technologies, and a proven track record of successful process implementation. Key Responsibilities

• Analyze current manufacturing processes to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement.
• Design, develop, and implement automated systems and advanced manufacturing technologies.
• Optimize production lines for efficiency, throughput, and cost reduction.
• Develop and execute process validation and qualification plans.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex manufacturing process issues to ensure operational continuity.
• Collaborate with R&D, quality assurance, and production teams to implement new product introductions and process changes.
• Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and manufacturing documentation.
• Conduct feasibility studies and cost-benefit analyses for new process initiatives.
• Train and mentor junior engineers and production staff on process improvements and new technologies.
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality regulations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, with a strong focus on process optimization and automation.
• Proven experience in designing and implementing automated manufacturing systems (e.g., robotics, PLCs, SCADA).
• In-depth knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach.
• Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Proficiency in CAD software and simulation tools.
• Strong understanding of quality control systems and regulatory compliance.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
