Placements24 is seeking a Senior Process Engineer for its Mossel Bay energy projects. The role focuses on designing, optimizing, and troubleshooting chemical and physical processes within oil and gas operations. The position is hybrid, offering collaboration across engineering, operations and maintenance teams in the Western Cape region.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or related field.
• 8+ years in process engineering, oil and gas preferred.
• Proficient with process simulation software and PFDs/P&IDs.

Responsibilities

About the Role

Our client seeks a highly skilled Senior Process Engineer to contribute to their energy projects in Mossel Bay. This hybrid role focuses on designing, optimizing, and troubleshooting chemical and physical processes within their oil and gas operations. You will play a key role in enhancing efficiency, ensuring safety, and driving innovation in process design and implementation. Your expertise will be vital in supporting the company's operational excellence and strategic growth initiatives in the Western Cape region.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop new process systems and optimize existing ones for efficiency and safety.


• Conduct process simulations and modeling using industry-standard software.


• Perform Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) and implement safety improvements.


• Develop Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) and Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).


• Troubleshoot operational issues and provide technical support for process-related problems.


• Collaborate with engineering, operations, and maintenance teams to ensure project success.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field.


• Minimum of 8 years of experience in process engineering, particularly within the oil and gas sector.


• Proficiency in process simulation software (e.g., Aspen Plus, HYSYS).


• Strong understanding of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and heat transfer principles.


• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and technical documentation skills.


• Experience with P&ID development and hazard analysis methodologies.
